Description
Alhambra is one of the few Spanish guitar brands with a fully documented history: founded in Muro de Alcoy, near Alicante, in 1965 by Ramón Martínez Clavel, Vicente Llorens and Bienvenido Vilaplana, originally trading as Manufacturas Jachi. Today the company exports to more than seventy countries, and the 7C sits in its conservatory-level range.
The top is solid cedar — open and responsive from the first day, well suited to fingerstyle playing and expressive dynamics. The back and sides are solid mahogany, keeping the tone focused in the midrange rather than adding the long decay you would get from rosewood. The neck carries an internal ebony reinforcement strip for long-term stability, and the fingerboard is ebony rather than the more common rosewood — harder-wearing and slightly brighter under the fingers. Tuners are gold-plated.
A guitar for an advancing student or a returning adult player who wants a genuinely documented Spanish brand at a conservatory level, without stepping up to Alhambra’s higher, hand-built series.
