Arrius MPR-100 CE — luthier-series classical guitar

Description

The Arrius MPR-100 CE sits at the top of the manufacturer’s classical range, built from solid wood in every structural part rather than mixing in laminate anywhere. This particular version is the MPR-100 CE — a cutaway body with onboard electronics, for players who need to plug into an amplifier or a PA.

We have not found independent documentation of Arrius as a manufacturer beyond its own materials, so we are describing the instrument on its construction and specification rather than on brand history. Solid cedar or solid spruce is used for the top depending on the specific example, with solid rosewood or solid Java ebony for the back and sides — a dense pairing that gives a firm low end and long sustain. The neck is solid red mahogany, the fingerboard solid ebony, and the tuners are the manufacturer’s deluxe grade.

Ebony fingerboards are harder and slightly brighter under the fingers than the more common rosewood, and they show less wear over decades of playing — a detail usually reserved for instruments a step above this price point.

Suited to an advanced player who wants luthier-grade materials and, in the CE version, the flexibility to perform amplified without changing instruments.
