Description
The A. Marzano A-400 pairs solid cedar with solid walnut, the same combination that defines the SLR-480 ST elsewhere in our range — a warm, quick-responding top backed by a denser wood than mahogany, which keeps the low end defined rather than loose.
What sets the A-400 apart is the fingerboard: solid grenadillo, a dense African hardwood in the same family as African blackwood, prized for its stability and its slightly glassy attack. It is not a wood you see often below luthier pricing. The neck is solid mahogany and the tuners are gold.
An instrument for an advanced player who wants cedar’s immediacy without giving up low-end definition, and who will notice the difference a grenadillo fingerboard makes under a fast right hand.
