Description

Bubinga is not a wood you see on many classical guitars, which makes the Casarez SLR-50 worth a specific mention. It is a dense African hardwood, harder and heavier than rosewood, and on a guitar back and sides it tends to push the low end toward tightness rather than bloom — closer in character to a well-built rosewood instrument, but with a slightly more percussive attack.

The top is solid cedar, giving the immediate response and warm colour the wood is known for, and the neck is solid mahogany with a solid rosewood fingerboard. Tuners are gold.

An option for a player who likes cedar’s speed but wants a firmer, more defined low register than the typical cedar-and-mahogany pairing delivers.
