The GDR-250 sits toward the upper end of A. Marzano’s cedar-topped range, built from solid cedar over solid mahogany with a solid rosewood fingerboard rather than the laminated boards found on cheaper instruments.
The combination gives the immediate, warm response cedar is known for, with mahogany keeping the low end from becoming loose under a heavy strum. Precision 18:1 tuning machines hold their setting more reliably during fine adjustments than the standard-ratio hardware fitted to entry-level instruments — a small detail, but one that matters on stage when you do not want to fight a tuner between pieces.
